Dare to Dream

Week #3 From "The Secret"

"You can have, do or be anything you want." - Joe Vitale.
The Secret

This weeks quote really hits me hard. I am feeling an array of emotions at this point and am extremely overwhelmed (in a good way) with the happenings in my life. I am very thankful that I have found two very different, yet incredible companies that are allowing me to make the changes in my life that I have been wanting for quite some time now; both from a tangible and physical/well-being level. I am thankful for some very dear friends who have shared these opportunities that I am now benefiting from...you know who you are! In addition to these changes, I am about to embark on a new adventure to Northern California. Some have called me brave and some ask if I am nervous. I wouldn't say it is bravery nor am I feeling nervous. Rather, I am entering this new phase with excitement and a sure knowledge that I will be successful. How do I know? Because I want it. I feel it. I am living it! I am so incredibly blown away by how applying simple changes in my outlook has helped me be successful in more ways than one. By being grateful for the small things and seeing the good in life has really opened doors for me that I would have otherwise not have had opened. I would be lying if I said I never have negative thoughts or feelings of defeat...I am human after all, and those feelings will always be there. The key is to turn those feelings around and try to focus on what you do have that is great. It works every time, guaranteed! The changes I have seen in my own life have been remarkable. My hope for you is that you can know that the sky is the limit and you truly can do anything! I challenge each of you to dream...and dream big.

I had to share this picture because
there is so much truth to this! Don't
build someone else's dream...build
your own!

Power in Words!

Here is your weekly dose of "The Secret."

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions" - Albert Einstein.
The Secret

I have a sometimes crazy imagination which I think has led me to the places I've been and to the things I have accomplished. I am sometimes told that I am too imaginative and not realistic in my goals, dreams, and beliefs. Maybe that is true, maybe it is not. But you know what? I would rather dream big and set my sights high than believe that I am not capable of achieving great things. So, go out and let yourself imagine great things to come...then sit back and enjoy what the universe has in store for you!

Superstar Entrepreneur

The title of this post may seem odd to some of you out there, but for me this is the first step into my new journey. I was so blessed to attend a Strongbrook Convention over this last weekend and am ready to take back control of my life. I know I can do it and am so excited to see what this next year brings!

This is a subject I have been pondering for a number of years.....about 4 years to be exact. About this time 4 years ago I was in S. Cal and had just finished my final semester of college. I was at a point where I needed change and was afraid of the fact that I would never do much with my life aside from sit at a desk all day everyday while working to make someone else rich.  Sounds like fun, right? Yeah, I didn't think so. The problem was that I did not know how to fix it. I'm a fixer, so when I couldn't figure out what to do, I decided to move...out of state. Not sure that was the best idea, but then again, I believe things happen for a reason whether we ever know the reason or not. For me, I think I know some of the reasons. And, I always say "go big or go home!" Anyway, I digress. Fast forward to today; I am back at a desk yet again making someone else look good and reap the rewards. Don't get me wrong, I like my job and do get my own recognition, but at the end of the day my earning potential is capped, I get told when I can and can't leave, and I spend more hours here than I do at my home. This concept that we have been brainwashed to think has really been weighing heavy on me these last few months and I am bound and determined to change my destiny. And, I know I can.

One reason I know this is because I have tested it. I recently learned about "The Secret" which is all about the law of attraction. I have put this to the test over the last several months, and have been shocked by the outcomes. Believe me, it works! So, I have decided I am going to make "The Secret" a part of this blog. I am going to share quotes weekly from this amazing movie/novel in hopes that you too can be inspired. So, here we go.

Week 1:

"Whatever we think about and thank about we bring about." - Dr John F Demartini.

Trying New Things

I have thought about trying a more holistic form of medicine for quite some time but never really knew where I would begin. It is kind of funny how opportunities come knocking which jumpstart your dreams into realities. Anyway, about a month ago I decided to give essential oils a try as I have heard many good things about them...insert doTerra. My mom has a friend who uses them and gave use some information about their many many uses. We ordered some and have been using them religiously for just over a month. They are simply divine and have helped me to get off my anxiety meds which is a huge plus in my life. The meds have horrible side effects that I am not so sure are worth the one issue they seem to fix. The oils are helping and leave no negative side effects to worry about later...bonus! I am having a blast using them and trying different combinations to solve different problems. I am even going to start using them to make my own cleaning supplies and what not so I am not putting toxic chemicals in the air and on my skin.

In addition to the oils, I just today tried acupuncture for the first time and was very impressed. I have been to a chiropractor many times and have seen the effects that has on your overall well being, but never have I used acupuncture. Well, I found a chiropractor who also uses acupuncture for certain issues. I have a few more treatments in the next couple of weeks and am feeling very hopeful that my headaches will be gone! And, this also helps with the anxiety without the added nasty side effects of modern medication. I think those ancient Chinese were on to something with these amazing healing ideas!

Gifty Christmas

I know that I raved about pinterest in my last post, but I have to give a shout out to this awesome website! It has provided me with cute Christmas gifts for my fun co-workers. I absolutely love them!

This little nifty "To-Do" List frame is handy for your home or work space. Place lined paper - or create your own - behind the glass, adhere a bow and include a dry erase marker. I found some fine tipped multi colored markers that had an eraser attached to them. So cute and very budget friendly.

This little gem is perfect for just anyone - teachers, mailman/woman, hair stylist, co-worker, neighbor, etc. So easy and cute!

Thanks Pinterest; not really sure how I lived this long without you!

Ugly Sweater & Christmas Shenanigans

This post is going to be kind of a hodge podge of randomness of my life in December thus far. First I have to say that I am quite fond of instagram and have just recently decided that I need to take more advantage of it's easy and quick picture editing features. I love how it can transform my so so Christmas tree picture into this delightful and pleasing to the eye image!

As a side note, this picture shows my old blinds. I had new blinds put in about a week ago, but that will be saved for another post.

Yes, my friends, this is what 10-12 inches snow looks like. We were hit with a bunch of snow last weekend and this was me trying to walk back to our trash can so we could get it out to the street. Needless to say, after 30 minutes and super human strength, we were able to push the can up and over a 5ft mound of snow and successfully take it out for pick up.

Well, Pinterest has done it again. I often find myself spending more time than I care to admit browsing through the fun crafts, cute apparel, and delicious looking recipes. I pin way more than I actually ever prepare or make, and the few things I have tried, don't quite turn out the way I had hoped. That aside, I was on the Christmas committee at work and was in charge of decorations. I found this little gem and thought it would make a cute table decoration. I was unsure how it would turn out, but I must say that it exceeded my expectation. We had 3 jars on each table and they were a hit. Pinterest's version did not include a ribbon, but I personally think it adds to the gloriousness. Well, that and the fact that we used cinnamon pine cones and real pine boughs which smell absolutely delightful. Overall, very pleased with this pinterest project.

For the work Christmas party this year we had an Ugly Sweater Contest. I decided to add these little elf shorts to the mix and though I did not win, I sure did get a lot of mixed responses from these little beauties. Fun times had by all!!

Haunted Half

So many things have happened lately and so I am just now getting to post about this. On October 26 my brother and I ran our first half marathon. I had not prepared for this like I should have, but decided to go for it anyway. The first 6 or so miles was a breeze. I felt good, the weather was nice, the slope was downhill, and the scenery was beautiful. Come miles 7 and 8, I started feeling a little sore in my legs. My pace slowed and by mile 9 I was in complete pain in my hips, back, legs, butt, shins, and feet. I honestly felt like quitting several times, but pushed through and finally made it across the finish line to collect my medal.

I am very proud of myself for having gone out there and completed it. I never thought in my life that I would ever do one, as I have not really ever enjoyed the thought of running. I can't say I absolutely love running, but I can say that I understand a little of what runners say about it growing on you until you end up entering into so many races. I am excited to say that I am going to sign up for a 5k on Thanksgiving at Thanksgiving Point. Stay tuned....
