Stressed Much???

Yes, I have been on stress over drive these last few months and it has wreaked havoc on my life. Results of stress = loss of sleep, increase in weight and, more recently, pains in my chest! Why you ask...well, first I got a new job, then I got another new job via promotion(more responsibility, and going on three months doing my old and new job simultaneously), and then as if that is not enough let's add buying a home in the mix.

You may recall my previous post from a couple of months ago; that home is not the one I will hopefully be moving into soon. Due to some lovely FHA guidelines and that particular HOA, I was unable to purchase that home. That deal lasted 2 weeks and then I was out on the hunt again. Success on home number 2 with almost the same features and only a couple miles away. Best part is it was way less money which was an added bonus. So, weeks later and nearly $500 of out of pocket costs for an appraisal, I lose house number 2 for a super low appraisal. At that point I was on the verge of defeat thinking this is not my time! I gave it one more chance and found a single family home for the same price, but bigger square footage and double garage. It's been nearly a month since the offer was accepted and I've been on pins and needles the entire time waiting for appraisals and paperwork to get done. Given the unique situation of the home I was buying, 2 appraisals were needed.    Through all of this, I was also trying to find someone to take my lease so I wouldn't have to pay ridiculous fees. As of today I have my apartment leased and the 2 appraisals have come in great! The bad comes in the fact that today was supposed to be my closing day...nope...here I sit waiting for another week or so. I have to be out of my apartment this weekend so will be moving my stuff into the garage of the home and then living out of a bag until I can get to my stuff.

Phew...what a life! For the sake of my sanity and apparently now my health, I hope things calm down fast!!

In other news. The house plans are going along...one minor snag means I am now buying a different house, but it's still in Draper and I'm still good on timing! I actually like this townhome a little bit more and it's a lot cheaper. I sold my couch last night and bought a new one tonight which is good but means I am sitting on my floor every night until next Tues...lol!

Things are moving along and things are working out. Now if I could just find someone to take my lease...fingers crossed I can find someone in the next couple of weeks.

Some Exciting Changes

I'm not going to lie...this year has been a roller coaster...and one I would really like to get off of. There have been really hard things to deal with and really great things happening in between. Currently there are a couple of those really good things happening right now! As stated in previous posts, I was able to move out on my own, and I have been promoted at work which was a huge blessing. I am absolutely loving my job and it is allowing me to make another amazing life change. I have put an offer in on a cute little townhome in Draper and it has been accepted....well almost. I am one signature away from an accepted offer and then all is well...hopefully anyway! I am really excited for this and am grateful to be in a position to allow me to do this. Now let the stress begin! Next step, find an inspector. Wish me luck!

In other news...I am going to be selling Thirty One. Click here to see their catalog. I absolutely love this product! I can't wait to get started!! If you are interested or would like more info, please let me know...I'd be happy to get you more information on this awesome product!

Using Pinterest

I am slightly obsessed with Pinterest, but have not yet tried anything that I've pinned. But, today that has ended! I made a breakfast dish that looked yummy! It didn't look like the picture so much, but it tasted great and it was fun to try something new. I can't wait to make more stuff!!

Here is how they were supposed to look...

Here is how mine looked...lol

Loving My Job

My life really has no interesting or cazy things happening right now - which, for the record, is fine by me! I am simply loving my apartment and more importantly my job. I have been at my new job for almost 4 months now and still enjoy going to work every day. Don't get me wrong....I'm no crazy workaholic by any means, and the bills unfortunately won't pay themselves, so work is more of what I'd call an annoying need. But, as far as jobs are concerned, I'm pretty dang happy with what I do and I'm finally happy to report that I think I just may have found a place I can stay awhile and have a solid career. I've learned alot and good things are in store!

Moving On Out

Life has been so so busy these last couple of months. I am really loving my new job and think this is a place I will stay forever!

Aside from loving my job, I have just moved out of my house. This is a big deal for me because I have never lived on my own. I have no roommates and am really enjoying having a place to call my own. I must admit that I am missing home slightly, but at least I'm not too far away and I'm sure I'll adjust quickly!! Now who wants to come visit me???

Isn't it cute?? I have enjoyed going through all my new things and organizing things the way I want them!

Last week recap...good times!!!

Tuesday - Had an interview with the Utah Dept of Insurance. I had received a call from the Dept of Insurance the previous Friday wanting me to come in for an interview. I had applied for this job a few weeks prior, and honestly thought I had no chance on evening landing an interview. Don't get me wrong...I have plenty of experience in the insurance industry, and I was able to answer every application question exceptionally, but in my mind I figured that since I had applied for about a dozen or so other state jobs, and have been on the job hunt for quite some time, I just wouldn't actually stand a chance. Well folks, I got an interview! And, it went pretty well.

Wednesday - While not trying to get my hopes up about landing the above mentioned position, I received a phone call from the body shop where I had taken my car a week earlier for repair of my damages (see previous post). And, I might update that I was able to get my car taken care of with no expense coming out of my pocket! The other insurance company accepted full liability and everything was turning out great! I was given a cute little Mazda to drive and everyone and everything was so nice. Anyway, I got a call that my car was all finished and ready to be picked up. I went on my lunch break and picked up my cute little car...it looked so nice. Thanks to Central Collision for making everything look perfect! And to top it off, they even detailed it. I am quite certain that my car was cleaner at that very moment, than when I had purchased it from Carmax. Awesome!!!

Friday - Work started out extremely slow. You see, my bosses were out all week so it was just me holding down the fort, and by close of business on Thursday I had completed all necessary tasks and by 10:30 on Friday, was completely done with all work needing my attention (i.e. emails, voicemails, etc). I could just tell that the only positive coming out of this day was the fact that it was Friday and each hour was moving me closer to the coming weekend. I spent the remainder of the morning browsing the internet, checking my emails and playing my new favorite game on my phone, Temple Run. I took my lunch at the usual time and returned to work to continue my fun and answering the occasional incoming phone call. Then 3:30 hit....2 hours left of my day and my cell phone rings. It's the Dept of Insurance and they would like to offer me the position. Wait, what??? You want me??? Really?? I was so excited, so of course I accepted the position and will be starting on March 5th! I will finally be in a position with benefits, growth opportunity, and something I can consider more of a career than just another dead end CSR job. I know this will be an awesome opportunity, and who wouldn't love to report the the State Capitol everyday, right???

I must say, this week has been by far one of the better weeks I have had in a very very very long time. I am excited for my new adventure. Not so excited to have to go in on Monday to inform my bosses that I am leaving in 2 weeks, but definitely excited to be starting something bigger and better!

Spectacular!

So yeah...the hits just keep on coming!! I was driving home on this lovely Friday evening when all of a sudden a lady in a blue mustang decides she would like to make a very illegal u-turn in front of me. Why you ask...who knows...these Utah drivers sure make it interesting on a frequent basis! And no, I do not consider myself a Utah driver!!

My story begins as I enter a little street on my way to the Draper post office. I am driving behind a mustang who appears to be slowing down to enter the McDonalds parking lot. She slowly moves to the right, no blinker I might add, and seems to be making the turn. Out of the blue she flips to the left, again no blinker, and makes her illegal u-turn as I slam on my brakes and t-bone her! Fantastic! Even better...not even 50 feet away is a round-a-bout where she could have easily gone around and ended up safely where she needed to be!!! So I calmly....ok that's a lie since I am not a calm person...called the police and waited for them to arrive. I was slightly concerned that I was going to be at fault as I was the one who hit her. However, I was found fault free and she was cited as at fault....thank goodness!! Now I just have to file a claim and wait to get my poor little car fixed....this does not help my OCD! It is already bugging me knowing my car is damaged.

Anyway, I am grateful I was not at fault and that no one was hurt, but I am sure the world is out to get me...a little break would be very much appreciated please...thanks!

New Year, New Commitment ...a few weeks late!

Can I just say how happy I am that 2011 is over??? I don't know why, and there is not really one specific reason why it was bad....it just was. I think it was just an off year!!

I also have no explanation as to why I have completely neglected my blog. There were so many times I would sit down to write something, and then nothing came to mind...maybe it's because the last half of my year was nothing blog worthy. There were many ups and more downs at the end of the year, which have somewhat trickled into the beginning of this year. I have since let go and continue to live day by day in the hope that starting Feb 1st and through the rest of the year things will get better.

I promise to commit myself to my blog and work this year at having a better outlook on life. This year will be about focusing on myself. Here's to 2012!!!
