The Writings on the Wall

I have always found it really fascinating and a bit odd that people feel the need to share personal secrets or events on the walls of the stalls in the bathroom. I mean really? Do I really want or need to know the Kelly is a *#&%@ or that Michelle was here?? No, I really do not. As nice as Michelle may be, I don't care that she had been in that same exact stall...I'm sure thousands of others have been there as well!!!

Well, I was at school today and happened to walk into a stall where someone had written their short term goals on the wall. Don't get me wrong, I was very entertained while using the facilities. I learned that somewhere on the CSUF campus there is a girl who would like to lose 10lbs, get rid of her "muffin top", and find a job. Great, I am so glad you shared that with me...now I'll able to get through the rest of my day!! There was also another little message and a response to that message. However, I will spare you the details as they are rather inappropriate and have really no purpose.

Come on people, are you really that bored?!?! Please spare us all the personal and intimate secrets of your life!!

Senioritis

Well, today marked the beginning of yet another semester and let's just say, this is gonna be one long semester. For those that have done the whole college thing, I'm sure you catch my drift? For those in the process or chose a different route, think back to last semester of Senior year of high school...SENIORITIS. I have self diagnosed myself with this disease and am officially mentally done with school. It is terrible. I have no desire to do anything, and the worst part, it that this is the single most important semester of my life!!! UGH! 16 weeks seems like an eternity at this point and only bad thoughts come to mind when I think about school so think I will stop this rant!!!!

On a happier note, I will be done after this semester and will try my luck in the career hunting department!! I am so looking forward to moving on and not having school run my life!!! It doesn't actually seem real...sometimes I still feel like a kid, not someone who is approaching the mid-20 range ready to emerge as a responsible adult in society. Anyway, I will make it through and am overall super excited to get this over with...

D-I-S-GUSTING!!

So for the last couple of nights my cats have been hanging out around the refrigerator, our shoes, and other such inspect type hiding places. We just assumed that there was a small spider or something and that they would eventually kill it, as that is what cats do! Well, we were wrong. Last night one of my cats was sitting by our front door meowing constantly. My mother walked over and there, in the crevice of the wall and the floor was none other than a baby scorpion. Um, disgusting!!! I knew we got them here in Chino Hills, but I have never actually seen one before. For those that might be curious I took a picture of it right before we flushed it!!!

Seein' Strips

Yes, that's right! The animal you are looking at is a zebra. This lovely animal resides in beautiful Chino Hills, CA. Crazy, right!!! I didn't even know you could own a zebra. I had heard from some other people that they had seen a zebra here, but I had never seen it. The other day I was driving by and the zebra was out, so naturally I had to take a picture. Gotta love it!!!

YSA Conference

This past weekend was spiritually uplifting, fun-filled, and very exhausting. The state of California participated in a statewide young single adult conference for our church. It is the first time the church has attempted anything to this magnitude and though it was a bit chaotic, it was also tons of fun.

We started Saturday nice an early at 8am, which means I had to be up at 6am to get to LA by 8. My ward was in the LA Temple district. We had an opening meeting, followed by speed dating.....a little crazy, but ultimately not so bad, workshops, and a dance to end the evening at 11:30pm. Then I got to drive home, to wake up six hours later to be back at our place for a 10am Sacrament meeting. It was so neat to see the Sacrament passed to approx. 1000 people. It only took about 30 min and was like watching a production. Everything was perfect and nobody was skipped.

Overall, I had a great weekend. There were a few things that should have been done differently, but overall, nice job California. Not bad for a test run!!
