The Curious Case of Missing Socks

Have you ever wondered where your socks go when you put them in the dryer? This has been a question of mine for quite some time. I always find it interesting that you start with two socks on your feet, you take them off and put them in the hamper, take them down to the washing machine, transfer them to the dryer, take them out to fold, and then when you get around to folding your socks, there seems to be one missing. Now if you're like me, then you go back to the washer to make sure one didn't get stuck to the inside, nope, not there. Next you look in the dryer to make sure you gathered all your clothes, nope, not there. Finally, you retrace all your steps, pull the couch cushions out, and dig all through your drawers to make sure that stupid sock has not been left behind. Nope, it is nowhere to be found. What happens to socks? If anybody has any idea, do share because I can't tell you how many socks my dryer has eaten!!!!!

Why is it.....

......that every time there is a rainy day, I have to go to work or school? It seems like every time a great storm rolls in, I am having to drag my butt out of bed at the crack of dawn only to find myself completely freezing and wishing I was still in my warm bed. Then to top it off, I have to run to my car to keep from getting completely soaked and drive on flooded roads so I can get to a place that I would rather not be at in the first place.

Instead, I would prefer to stay in bed late, get up and stay in my pajamas, put a log in the fireplace, turn on a good movie all while doing nothing and sipping hot chocolate. B-E-A-Utiful!!!!

Just a few Favorites

With Christmas less than two weeks aways, I am starting to make it a point to watch at least one Christmas movie a day. Some of my favorites include:
This movie is a classic.....I freakin love this movie

This movie is in some ways, better than the first. Not all movies can make it as sequels, but this is one that can. However, the third one??? Not so much. How can you make a third home alone and not have any of the same characters????

Another great movie!! The great sequel label does not apply to this one though. The second and
third are okay, but not great.

This movie is actually quite cheesy but when I was little, I watched every year and so it has become a tradition and though it is cheesy, I love it!

And last but not least, no Christmas is complete without the Grinch. I love the little who's in whoville. And I should mention that I prefer the cartoon version. The Jim Carey version is good, but the cartoon is classic.
How I love the holidays and the great holiday movies. HAPPY VIEWING!!!!!

Trippin'

I am such a procrastinator. Seriously, Thanksgiving is long gone and I am just now posting pics from my trip. I went to St. George and saw my cousins and my grandparents.

Yes, this is my cousin's wife Shahnaz and she is very happy.......she says that her sundae from McDonald's was spiked.......sure!!!!
Anyway, this pic cracks me up because we all look soooooo great. This is what happens when you take a picture at midnight after you have been laughing hysterically for the past 3 hours.

Picture of me, my brother, my mom, and my grandmother

My grandmother and her husband

My grandmother's husband's son and his wife - Rick and Cheryl. They are fun people. This is us at Applebees.

My cousin Joyce and her grandson Carter......I guess he would be my cousin too?!?! Families are confusing.
And lastly, this is my crazy cousin and his crazy wife....just kidding. They are completely normal, can't ya tell????
I don't have pics of all my family, unfortunately, because Emily is a camera hog (her words...not mine). Love ya Emily and this blog goes out to you!!!!
Overall, I had a great weekend and am so grateful that I was able to spend Thanksgiving with such wonderful people.

'Tis the season....

It seems like so much has happened in the past week or two!!

  • I had my surgery on the Monday before Thanksgiving........do not recommend doing this before a holiday!!! The doctor said it was the biggest stone he had seen...3.2cm. Anyway...I'm all good now......thank you to everyone who took care of me!!!!
  • Went to St. George to see my family for Thanksgiving.....I have not laughed that hard for a very long time........FYI, this was very painful due to recent surgery!
  • Drove 7 hours in car to get home so I could go back to work and school.......yay me!!!!
  • Put lights on house so the outside matches the inside.....now I am fully engulfed in Christmas goodness!!! My house looks like a Halmark store but I LOVE IT!!
  • Back to school and with 2 weeks left, I am drowning in essays, reading, and group projects......LOVELY!!
  • Christmas shopping is not done.........must gain courage to go out and fight the crowds!

I really do love this time of year (I am a bit of a Christmas nerd). I love the cookies, candy, lights, and cheerful people. I hope everyone has a great holiday season.
