A Day at the Getty

This past Saturday my mom and I and our friends Sherry and Aubrey decided to take a last minute trip down to LA to see the Getty Museum. Though I have lived in CA my whole life, I had never been and since it is free....we decided, why not? It is so big and pretty interesting. I must admit though, once you've seen 3 or 4 rooms of art, it all starts to look the same. It was very cool to see them though. I actually enjoyed the gardens and the view of LA more. Overall, good little trip. I can now say that I have seen the Getty.

This is a general view of the gardens. In the middle part where it looks like a maze, they have water running through it. It is very neat looking.

So I go a new camera for Christmas and I have to say, it takes some pretty good pics....or maybe that is just the talent of the photographer...haha! Love the close up of the bee. I am really afraid of bees so this makes the pic that much better.

Love the view of LA...if only it was clear...but no, smog is what we get! Anyway, if you look especially close you can see the LA Temple. It is so funny to me that in every other city where there is a temple, it stands out, but in LA it appears smaller that all the sky scrapers...it is still so pretty though!!

Life as a Working Adult

I have discovered a bunch of things, both good and bad since I am now a full time working adult.

1.) I have more free time at night....positive. I can now do things such as read...leisurely (can I just say that I am in love with Twilight. I got the series for Christmas and am obsessed), watch tv without homework interruptions, and make yummy meals for dinner.

2.) I can't just ditch at the spur of the moment, if I don't feel like going to class....negative. Being in school can have its perks!!

3.) I feel I can now devote more time to becoming healthy...a.k.a. going to the gym....positive...I think. I made my first trip to the gym this evening. First time in 3 months and I rather enjoyed it. It helps when you don't have to go alone!!

4.) I am really tired and it is only been 4 days....negative. I am not used this, but hey it's only 40 or 50 more years, right!! YIKES.

I haven't fully decided whether or not I'd rather be in school still or if I like only working. Only time will tell I guess.

Christmas and such...

So I know this is really late, but I have been so bad at checking my facebook, blog, and email since I have had a lot of time off. Anyway, wow....Christmas is over and we are in the New Year. Christmas was so good to me this year. I got boots, an amazing red coat, a new camera, the Twilight series, and one of my favs is the after-market auxiliary plug for my iPod for my car. So happy that I can listen to my Ipod in the car again.

In other news, December was a great month for another reason. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton. I never actually thought the day would come. Time as flown by so fast; it feels like just yesterday I graduated from High School, and now I'm done with college. WOW!! I haven't gotten my degree yet, and I won't walk until May, but it feels so good to be done! This semester was so intense too, and I am amazed at how fast it went by.

Anyway, I am glad to be done with school, I really enjoyed my Christmas, I am happy for 2010 so I can make and hopefully keep my resolutions, and I hope you all had an awesome Christmas and New Year!!!

Here's to 2010!!!!!

Christmas Cheer

The past few days have really helped get me in the Christmas mood. Here are a few pics of the past few days.

First stop....Disneyland. Christmas is just not Christmas without a trip to Disneyland. Everything is so pretty. Even better was the fact we were celebrating my dear friend Heidi's b-day!! So fun!

On Friday, my mom and I headed down to Newport for the Newport Boat Parade. We were invited by some friends to go. We had so much fun eating, laughing, talking, and enjoying the lights!! Wonderful evening!

Finally, tonight we went over to Riverside to the Mission Inn. They have a wonderful light display and we even took a horse drawn carriage ride around the mission. It was fun, but super crowded.
Now that my shopping is done, the presents are wrapped, and I have enjoyed a few nights of Christmas goodness, Christmas can come!! Love this time of year. Merry Christmas!!

A time for firsts...

So last night....or rather very early this morning I attended my first midnight showing. New Moon. WOW. After 7 hours of chatty and screaming girls and their 40 year old mothers, I was able to enjoy this new movie. I must admit that I liked it much better than the Twilight movie. The acting was by far better...still room for much improvement, but not as painful to watch!! And, I must also admit that it was kinda fun sitting outside for 4 hours freezing my butt off while waiting for them to let us in so we could wait another 3 hours for the movie to start.

It was entertaining to watch these teenage girls interact with each other. It makes me laugh to think that I was once like that. The odd thing about the evening is that I was not annoyed at all by the high pitched voices and screams. I was actually very amused! I usually have no patience.....you see, I hate teenagers (most of them) and find that their conversations are rather trivial and pointless. I know I was one of them not that long ago, and I'm sorry to anyone who had to listen to my ridiculous life drama at the time!!! LOL!! The time went slow at first, but actually picked up once we got inside and were warm. It was fun hanging with my dear friend Heidi and her bro and friend, Gabe.

Overall, good night. I am super tired today, so work is gonna be joyful!! Can't say that I'd do this again, but who knows. At least I can check this off my list!!!

Where does the time go??

Can you believe it's November already??? Where does the time go?? It feels like just yesterday that we were entering the year 2009, and now we are nearing the year 2010. WOW!! Life is so busy right now that I feel my life is going in fast forward and I can't find the pause button. EEEK!! Anyway, I do love this time of year...everything about it!! The smells, the weather (although I wish it was colder), the sights, and yes...the music. I am one of these that turns the Christmas on during the Thanksgiving week. Things I'm looking forward to:

1.) Christmas music

2.) Yummy food

3.) Spending time with family

4.) School being done....for good....graduation here I come!!!

5.) Making Christmas cookies

6.) Looking at Christmas lights

Now all I need to do is focus on enjoying the season. This will be challenging given my current situation.

In other news the Scentsy Warmer of the Month follows. It is super cute. There is also an entire Christmas collection that can be seen on scentsy.com or on my website at wendyreves.scentsy.us
